Roger McDonald

Roger McDonald is the author of ten novels covering a wide range of the Australian experience, with a particular emphasis on rural life and character, and of several works of non-fiction. In 2006 Roger won Australia's most respected literary prize, the Miles Franklin Award, for his novel The Ballad of Desmond Kale.Recently he started writing about the sea, in “A Sea-Chase”, which he describes as “a pinch of Australian dirt thrown into the Southern Ocean”. He is looking forward very much to being a judge in the Festival of Young Writers.
